I'm not big on buying movie soundtracks but based on the movie, Black Beauty (composed by Danny Elfman) would have a beautiful soundtrack. Every time I hear the opening music I start to cry because I start to think of the rest of the movie (which is really sad at points). This is truly the most beautiful music I have ever heard in a movie.

I don't know where you can hear it online but you can buy it on Amazon. Also, (and I don't think this will be a problem) there is another, not so great version of Black Beauty lurking out there but that probably has a different composer so make sure you have the right soundtrack.

I'm putting in my dibs for "Mighty Joe Young" by James Horner. The track "Windsong" is especially beautiful; its a soft African chant accompanied by modest orchestra.

And another great James Horner score: "The Land Before Time" (the original, not one of the ten billion sequels!)
Whether you think you can, or whether you think can't, you are right.

There's also the classic Mononoke Hime(Princess Mononoke) soundtrack by Joe Hisaishi

My 2 fav tracks are Ashikata and San and The Legend of Ashikata (end credits)

Then theres also Martin O'Donnel and Michael Salvatori got my paws on thier latest work not too long ago. I bet you can guess what that soundtrack is heh...

Woah, you guys have loads of great stuff! I haven't checked them out yet, but I'll raid iTunes later and see if I can hear any samples.

I'd forgotten all about the film Black Beauty - that does have an extremely gerat soundtrack, I have got to check out that one!

@Raptor: Do you know where I could get a hold of the full TLK soundtrack? I'll look at Barnes and Noble, too, for all of these, I have a few cards I can use :)

Anyone seen the film "Duma?" I can't recall the soundtrack very well, and I'm not sure if it really had enough music, but I'll look... iTunes first, for samples ;)

Thanks sooooo much!! You are all so helpful!! :D

The tracks I listen to most often are Spirit and Brother Bear. I'd probably listen to TLK too, but I don't have a copy of it in my travel case and I do most of my music listening on the way to and from work.

sadly, i only own one soundtrack. Shrek 2. but it is really very good - oddly though, what i would consider the best songs on the album arent actually featured anywhere in the film or the credits XD

i really want the soundtracks of Spirit, Donnie Darko, and maybe POTC. ive not payed huge attention to that one, but when i do, i absolutely love it

For POTC i kinda like At World's End the best :D The last 4 tracks of the CD are the best IMO especially "What Shall We Die For", "I Don't Think Now Is The Best Time" and "Drink Up Me Hearties"

Dead Man's Chest was quite nice too with the Kraken giving some themes a darker feel.

A few favorites in my collection:
The Last Samurai
Gladiator
Batman Begins
Dances with Wolves
Star Wars
Pirates of the Caribbean
The Time Machine
Passion of the Christ
Finding Neverland
LoTR

If I could find it I'd buy it:
The Black Hole
The Never Ending Story (more for nostalgia than anything else)

I had the same trouble finding "Balto." I checked all the new and used music stores I could find and finally found it on ebay a few years back. It's a rare CD to find I think most people who buy it are less willing to give it up. It 's a testament to how good it is!
