If a company goes bankrupt, somebody still gets all the assets -- it's like an inheritance.

It's *less* like that that person or company might come after you, but they still can.

If it's in the public domain, it's fine to post--just check and make sure it really is public domain first :) Also note that just because Bach is public domain, a specific recording of his stuff may not be. Copyright is complicated.

What if. lets say a soundtrack was an orphan work. Is there less risk in downloading it due to no one owning it?

There is some risk, yes. Somebody still owns that copyright; it's just that if it's orphaned, it's very unlikely that they'll exercise their rights.

Yeah, because someone had to make the recording, so it's theirs :D I understand that part. ^^

I'm not sure if anyone has said this yet, but another amazing, powerful, and beautiful Hans Zimmer one is the soundtrack for Spirit:Stallion of the Cimarron . It blows my mind away and inspires me when I hear the instrumental peices in the movie and on the soundtrack.

Yanno, I started tearing up when I heard the opening music for Spirit in the theater -- that long stretch with all the places out west.

And it's so good to have another fan of the movie and its tracks here that loves it like I do...^^

Spirit is another really good soundtrack, not only because it sets the mood for the movie but because it literally tells the story of Spirit since he doesn't really talk in the movie. Definately another of my favorite soundtracks. I don't know if anyone has mentioned the Zorro soundtrack either. Not as epic as some but still went very well into the general theme of the movie.
