Mumford and Sons

Post by Stygian » Tue Jan 19, 2010 1:02 pm

I discovered this band when my Dad asked for their CD for Christmas. I had heard them mentioned a couple of times on the radio and they were being advertised every now and then on TV, so before I went out to buy the album I checked them out on youtube and fell in love instantly ^^

This band is amazing. I got it for my Dad and now it's the most played CD in the house, on car journey's and I play it whenever I'm doing work. To me it's a purely unique sound, and these guys aren't just musicians they're artists. You can tell they're really passionate about their work and it really shows through. Loads of people might pass them by and consider them just jumping on the Elbow/Noah and the Whale bandwagon but they're completely seperate and original.

Have a listen:

the only song i know by them is Winter Winds, but i gotta say while the rest of the country was raging for x-factor and rage against the machine, i was sat there thinking "if anyones gonna get the christmas no 1, it should be these guys. at least winter winds sounds christmassy unlike both the other songs!"

i should listen to more of their stuff :cheese:

I saw an advert for them on TV and brought little lion man and winter winds off Itunes, I like them both a lot but i can't afford to buy the rest of the album right now.
And I have tea at midday and DINNER at 4pm. But some people say its the other way round. Those people are wrong. Grrr.

I do like this band a lot: they have a really distinctive sound.
Though I was cheering for Rage Against the Machine at christmas: I occassionally go into full scale rock mode.
Do you lie awake at night because you fear being found out? Or is it because you know some day you'll have to face up to that what you are doing is wrong?
