The Little Prince

Post by mike_197 » Thu Feb 05, 2015 6:14 am

So I stumbled across this, and it turns out it's directed by the same Mark Osborne who did More, one of the greatest short films ever. The blend of live-action, drawn, and stop-motion looks really interesting, and it's going to be scored by THE Hans Zimmer. Basically it looks amazing. I dunno if it can live up to the billing but the trailer looks great, so I thought I'd bring it to your guys' attention.

It looks great, but I can't figure out what the plot of this new adaptation is without seeing it in English (I don't know French anymore.... but I once read Le Petit Prince in French)

Fortunately I had a number of friends in high school who were fluent in French so I can actually understand it pretty well although I could never read it very well.

BUT I just found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eV7ebVeaeN4

Ignore the subtitles. I was excited to see Mackenzie Foy is voicing the main character, she was fantastic in the dub for Ernest and Celestine.

That's pretty funny that the English speaking trailer you found isn't even targeted at Americans or Europeans, but thanks for sharing!

I remember seeing this awhile back o.e (Trailer anyway)

Thought it was neat but I wish they strayed a little farther from Disney-ish 3D.

You mean Pixar-ish 3D? It seems like Disney, Dreamworks, and every other company does 3D because of Pixar's success with it. I don't mind it at all though, 3D is an artform in itself. It contrasts nicely with the stop-motion in the trailer, hopefully the blend of styles works well in the final product.

I just want to see a different face :P Good 3D's fine, but the design is getting too repetitive... for me anyway XP
