Legs are looking pretty good -- in the right order rather than as a series of leaps, which so many people think is a run cycle! I think what you want to look at is the body and the head motion.

Your body is rather stiff here; it should be more flexible, the back arching when the legs gather under the body and stretching when they reach out. Right now you're kind of stuck in reach mode.

The circle that depicts your head is about right, but the direction the muzzle is aiming is off. When the head is down, the muzzle will point almost straight forward; at the top of the head's arc the muzzle will point more down, though not straight down, still mostly forward.

Lastly, you can get away with a lot less motion in the tail in this case because it's docked. It almost shouldn't move at all.
Zib, go suffer for your art.

I actually don't use any refs for lip-synch but myself and a mirror. Sometimes I don't even use a mirror, I just "feel" the shape.

That might sound a little odd, since I'm not a wolf, but if you've been drawing any time at all, you can generalize. A mouth shape on a person won't be much different on an animal (ignoring, for the moment, anteaters, maybe ;) ), just exaggerated.

And from that comes the real tip I can give you--push it. Push the mouth shape as far as you think you can get away with it. Open the mouth wide for the aaahs, make it a tiny, pouty circle for the oooos. You'll be amazing at the difference it makes. And don't forget secondary action in the cheeks and markings; that'll help, too.

Yeah i tried feeling the shapes and that turned out well, my Dad also pointed out that I must Pull the mouth farther. And all that took me Hmmm lets say 5 hours to do, I had to draw each frame on my light box, then scan it on to gimp, then ink and colour each frame, then animate ;) and I did not have an animation program! I simply used a video editing program and shortened the frames to 0.100 seconds per frame! but I reused some frames. then I recorded my voice (I'm one of those people who hate hearing their voices on recordings) then I lowered the pitch from 80 to 105... and voila A 8 SECOND PEICE!! :shadowerf:

Yep, that's pretty much my process, too :) Except that my video program measures things in frames rather than portions of seconds, which is way, way easier to deal with (typical animation is 24 frames per second on the 2s -- meaning 12 drawings per second -- which doesn't break down nicely into decimal).

Yeah, it's hard to find a freebie that doesn't (but then, hey, lots of hours go into making those things, I can't begrudge them a little cash).

It'll still, at least, let you see how you're doing, even if it's not good enough for showing off.

Uzuri, I'm still working on the updated version because There was something wrong in the 5th frame. I added a background and I still need someone to voice the sentence. :o.O: but my friends aren't that interested in animation.
so when I'm done I'll show it. the character says a simple sentence "I'm Adela, and you are?"

Marji4x thanks for the tests! I'll see if I can download pencil again :razz2:
