I think it's a nice "jog" or "canter" or whatever it is called when animals do it XD And I am not referring to the way the legs move necessarily but just to how it feels, how fast it is moving. It is not an extreme run, not a full run, maybe that is what is bugging you? It's a very gentle kind of run. But like uzuri said, the movement is all there! It's very nicely done :D

The tail does need work, it's not moving in a wave pattern. It doesn't have to be a full on wave, but right now it's flickering because movement isn't based on the animals' movement. It's just kind of jerking around on its own, does that make sense?

This also kind of strikes me as a lion, maybe because of how thick the legs are in relation to the body? I am not sure D:

I could use a little critique to make sure I'm on the right track. I see the nose/mouth is a little funny so I know I need to fix that.

I'm glad you noticed that. I sure didn't. :razz2: Now I need to figure out how to fix that.

Usually on canines, the lower part of the leg below the elbow and knee (front and back legs respectively) should line up with the general shape of the upper leg... here's a cheapy redline I attempted with a touchpad for you:

http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=rs7m85&s=6

Obviously, my lines are just kind of drawn on there... the joints shouldn't atcually start right where I drew them, especially on the front side o fthe knee... but it's ageneral idea :)

I love your art though, you have a lovely style and very nice, clean lines!

Hope that helps a bit!!

OK I see. It doesn't look to be as painful a fix as I thought. Thanks for the help!

EDIT:

Here's Mark II, see if that's any better.

Woha, I never saw that post xD Thank you!

But, yes, you're both right about the tail. I was really struggling with it so in the end I just... gave up xP So it needs to move more in a "wave" pattern?

Ah, that might just be it, yes =O

That about the legs is probably right too, though I didn't really pay attention to the thickness of them when I drew them - I just wanted to make sure the legs were moving in the right order because it was hard to tell with just the stick lines - so I can put some blame on that... xD

Thanks again for the feedback anyhow, Uz and Marji, I appreciate it :D

Zib, go suffer for your art.

Wow that's really great, the shading is amazing - I've never been able to get a nose that looked that good :) I really like the eye on the right too, though I think the eye on the left is perhaps not quite the right shape and the way it slants upwards slightly doesn't seem to relate to the rest of the face. I agree though, this would look good in a portfolio.

Thanks Styg!

Hehe, yeah I noticed the eye too >_>

Though I gotta say, loooking back now, it's kinda weird on the photo I was using as refference too, just not as noticeable o-0

Again, I appreciate the comment :)
